About

PriceMyBet compares what the same bet costs at sportsbooks and prediction markets, in cents on the dollar.

Who runs it

One person, working on it alone. There is no newsroom and no team of analysts. That is worth knowing because it sets what this site can and cannot be: it can keep a price table accurate and honest, and it cannot cover every league or answer every email quickly.

The site has no view; the tips have an author

Nothing here is generated as a pick. The comparison, the highlighted price and the per-matchup note are arithmetic on what the sources are charging, and none of them has an opinion on who wins.

The tips are separate and they are somebody's. Every one carries a name, a flat $10 stake, and a published record graded against both the result and the closing price — including the losers, because a record with the losses removed is not a record.

The separation is the point. A site that both recommends bets and takes a fee for sending you to a bookmaker has an interest in you betting more, so the two are kept apart in the code as well as in the prose: what gets tipped has no bearing on which price is highlighted, and the highlight is computed rather than chosen.

How it makes money

Referral fees. When you open an account with an operator through a link here, that operator may pay us. Nothing else: no subscriptions, no paid placement, no advertising, no selling of reader data.

Two things follow, and both are enforced in the code rather than promised in prose:

  • The highlighted price is the lowest one. It is computed, never chosen, and no commercial arrangement is an input to it.
  • Sources that pay us nothing stay in the table and win the highlight whenever they are cheapest. Removing one would be a bug, not a business decision.

As it stands, no affiliate arrangement is live, so at the moment the site earns nothing at all. When that changes it will not change any price on the page. How it works sets out the mechanism.

Mistakes

Prices move, feeds fail and matching two sources to the same game is not always clean. When a price on this site is wrong it is a fault worth reporting rather than a rounding difference to shrug at. Every page states when its prices last changed, and the underlying data is available through the public API so anyone can check the working.
